Be Audacious
[ôˈdāSHəs]
Be BOLD, be BRAVE, BELIEVE in yourself, and BE ABOUT it!
I teach people how to be AUDACIOUS.
I have always had the audacity to make my own way, defy the odds, and follow my inner wisdom. I grew up orphaned in the murder capital of the world, and harnessed my innate power to manifest my trajectory.
I’m a Veteran. Mom of Four. Wife. Kellogg Professor. Board Director. Microsoft Alum. Entrepreneur. Advisor. Hollywood-Award-Winning Creator & Executive Producer. Nonprofit Founder. World Traveler. Foodie. Gardener.

The Audacious Commander? Yeah.
I have always had the audacity to make my own way, defy the odds, and follow my inner wisdom.
I had the audacity to mentally and emotionally survive being orphaned at age 11, knowing God had my back, and I went on to thrive, empowering myself and others.
I had the audacity to skip the 4-year college route and join the US Air Force Intelligence squadron at 19 - defying those who said I was “too girly for the military.” Two years later, I was named the Airman of the Year and flying a fighter jet over England.
I had the audacity to continue my college degree online WHILE DEPLOYED for war, throw a talent show when we were prepping for war (to build up troops’ equity in resilience), and lauded at war time for being amongst many things, “calm under pressure.”
In 2018 - when representation “didn’t” matter to most — I had the audacity to create and executive produce Soci Circle, a DIVERSE tween web series, with ZERO filmmaking experience. Six months later, the show won a Hollywood film festival and was critically acclaimed as the Mister Rogers Neighborhood for the next generation.
I had the audacity to teach middle school in the inner city (when my peers all went to the affluent school districts) because I wanted to make an impact where I was needed most. My methods revealed that the boy who teachers thought “couldn’t even read” was actually the smartest kid in the class!
I had the audacity to insist I be interviewed for my first corporate job after they had ALREADY extended an offer to someone else. They rescinded the initial offer and gave it to me instead. I, then, had the audacity to tell my VP what job I SHOULD be doing, rewrite it, and then give my new job description to HR.
10 years ago, I had the audacity to apply for a role at Microsoft, with no technical degree. I became a top leader and influencer in the company, managing billion-dollar-businesses, and built its first-ever national Services Sales University.
I had the audacity to accept the mission (while pregnant with my second child) to launch a first-of-its-kind nonprofit organization to RECRUIT mentors for disadvantaged youth — at the behest of Susan L. Taylor, Editor-in-Chief Emeritus of ESSENCE magazine. The org won an award from Big Brothers Big Sisters for adding hundreds of mentors to its roster.
I had the audacity to defy the hospital birth norms and deliver my third and fourth children healthily at HOME, and homeschool them for 10 years in partnership with my husband — pre-COVID, when many people judged my decisions.
I’m the audacious commander because I stay in control of my inner power and my inner wisdom. And, I’m on a mission to teach others how to be AUDACIOUS: to be bold, be brave, and believe!
